I'm going to set a password until I have things sussed out. I'm currently playing on servers that are run like that and it works a whole lot better for everyone. If you decide to build a base, please do that in open space away from villages and cities. There are a couple other types of AI (monsters) that I have not seen yet. When that sound changes to a modem handshake sound a fire team (3 units) is unloading from the drone near your proximity. Apparently they sound like white noise when nearby. For those that hated the zombies in DayZ Epoch (ArmA2) they are gone now. Otherwise, persistence will spawn you back where you last logged off. If you want to join friends you could meet them there. Apparently new players spawn at the same location. If you want to play with friends use Teamspeak or something similar. They are stocked by the players selling loot to them. The traders have nothing to sell at the beginning. Search cabinets, tables, furniture and appliances, etc. Loot is no longer found on the ground from what I can see so far. When you eat or drink something in your inventory (double left click on the item) it will show your hunger or thirst relative to the maximum. There are no thirst, hunger, blood HUD indicators anymore. 1.76 million objects and a lot of those are buildings that can be entered.
For those of you with a door opening fetish, this map has approx. It is big and green with lots of trees and the sea surrounding the island.

Disable any other mods that you may have running or the server will kick you during the join process. You can Google for both, but the Epoch mod is found at the Epoch Mod Community and the Bornholm map at Armaholic. All you need to play on it is the new Epoch mod for ArmA3 and the Bornholm map.
I just put up an ArmA3 Epoch server running the Bornholm, Denmark map.
